Life Update

My life has been quite hectic over the past few months - hence, no quilling since February. My baby was sick for a while, had a surgery, but is doing great now. He is starting to walk and gets into everything, so long gone are the days when I can set him on the floor with some toys near me while I quill.

Also, my second oldest son has dyslexia and needs a lot of one-on-one instruction to help him become an independent reader. So, raising four children (ages 9, 7, 3, & 1), plus with the extra needs they have, I don't know when I'll be able to get back to quilling again. I hope it's sometime within the next year or two. I definitely don't want to take a three year break like I did when my daughter (3 yr old) was born.

Thanks for supporting me and following my blog. I'll get back to it one day - I promise!

Kind regards,
Brenda

  1. Brenda,

Glad to hear your little one is doing good, and I know how it is to take time away. My daughter is a little over two and I didn't get back into quilling again till she was 1 1/2 or so and even now it's not as much as I used to do. Good luck and you'll get back into it when it's time, children are only young for such a short time and they need you right now. I do look forward to seeing what you create when you are back in the swing of things. Take care.

  2. Brenda,
I've been checking your blog and figured life got busy for you with four young ones and the littlest one a baby. Surgery? Sounds scary. I am glad all went well.
Joe, the children, and I saw Errand of Angels on DVD from the library the other day and thought it very true to sister missionary work (where ever one served...the gal who wrote it served about the same time as us in Austria).
Hope you can have a more relaxing summer...and get a chance to quill once in awhile! You deserve it!

  3. I stumbled across your blog and thought I'd say Hi. Your quilling is beautiful. I love the realistic looking dogs! Wow, I didn't know you could do that with rolled paper. And the hearts are all so pretty. I'd like to learn to make one for my hubby. And I also loved the little roses on one of your cards. All very pretty.

I am not a quiller yet, but I am in the process of learning about it. I'd like to take it up as a new hobby. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.

I'm glad your baby is alright. Don't worry about the blog, and quilling. Just get to them when you can. There is a season for everything, and your kids are only little once. Have a nice day.

  4. I know just how you feel. I actually resent when complexities of life gets in the way of my quilling. I've got several half finished pieces packed away and I need to find the time to finish them. I feel sometimes that I'm going to die and there will be all these unfinished quilling pieces that will get thrown away or sold on eBay for a pittance. I'd rather see you quilling then working on the blog although I love your blog. I look forward to seeing some more of your work.
